What are The Tender Letters?

Every envelope is a world.

Each month, you'll receive a heartfelt, typewritten personal letter filled with an exploration of how we can learn to love ourselves, our communities and our world better — all tied to that month's theme.

Crafted with care, you'll get handmade original collage prints, poetry, prompts and creative activities. And a Dearest Lovely Human Card which you can give to a friend or leave for a stranger to find to spread the love as far and wide as possible.

There are 3 types of memberships: EMBER, FLAME and HEARTH. If you are craving deeper connection, FLAME and HEARTH include extra gifts and the chance to connect to the community with monthly live calls exploring that month's themes.

Collage Creations

I make collages every day. It's a way I can stay connected to a slower and more inspired way of living. Every month you'll get a collage and poem overlaid based around the theme of the month.

Tactile Typing

I write your letter first by hand, collecting field notes from the month's theme and carefully crafting them into something that feels like it's written by a dear friend (which I hope we will become). Then I type it up on my beautiful sage green typewriter. This practice is tactile and touchable. And, because there's no convenient delete button, each letter is beautifully imperfect. Much like us.

Mosaic Poetry

The poetry is made from a collection of overheard conversations and underlined phrases from books about the monthly theme. I type them all out and cut them all up and arrange them over the surface of the collage. It's a practice that keeps me attentive to the poetry found in the everyday, the mosaic in the mundane.

Dearest Lovely Human

You'll also get another original collage print that says Dearest Lovely Human on the front, and Thank You on the back. I've been making these for over 10 years now, leaving them in random places for a stranger to find. You can either keep it, give it to a friend or leave it for the right person to find at just the time — when they need a tender reminder most.
